Proud(used to be) owner of a 2005 2.0, 156 JTS Veloce. Whilst driving at 60mph the engine cut out and never started since. First thoughts of cambelt, crank sensor etc have all been ruled out. No faults recorded on diagnosis, Alfa Romeo also confirmed so next issue was the fuel.
Theengine line-up has been altered, too. It still starts with a 150bhp 2.0-litre unit, but both the coup and soft-top versions now offer the 2.0-litre JTS launched in the
1592.2 JTS Idle Issues. I am looking for parts for a 2.2 JTS - 2007. I need an oil level sensor. [Which is total PITA!] If anyine knows of one being broken. The new switch seems to be between £230 - 300, which having seen the switch is a bit steep methinks! I also have idle issues.
The2.0 JTS had a smaller oil pick up in the sump which seems to have kept JTS engines safe although they run 10W/60 oil. The 10W/60 is a little thicker than 10W/40 even at 0° as the numbers are just an approximation. Thebolts for the starter are unique so take note of their positions, this job is not difficult but it can be a little frustrating because of limited space between the starter and the firewall so give yourself plenty of time.
